Thakkar

Dharmesh is a general partner at Battery Ventures, where he focuses on early-venture and growth-equity investments in areas including cloud infrastructure, big data, security and next-generation enterprise applications. Prior to Battery, Dharmesh was a managing director at Intel Capital, where he led the firm’s global cloud and big-data practice and made early- and later-stage investments in companies globally. He also assisted in long-range strategic planning for Intel’s $14 billion datacenter group. In 2016, Dharmesh was named to the Forbes Midas Brink list of up-and-coming venture capitalists. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a BS in electrical engineering, Dharmesh also holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

Rajeev Madhavan is a founder and General Partner of Clear, where he focuses on early stage technology investments. Rajeev’s operational specialties are recruiting, software-oriented technology, product definition, sales acceleration, and scaling. He has been a venture investor in over 35 companies.

Prior to founding Clear in 2014, Rajeev founded three successful startups. The most recent, Magma Design Automation, became the 4th largest Electronic Design Automation company in the world under his leadership.

Rajeev served as Magma’s Chairman and CEO from when he co-founded the company in 1997 through its acquisition by Synopsys in February 2012 for $580 million. Magma was listed on Nasdaq in 2001 and was ranked as the 2nd fastest growing Technology Company in 2005 by Forbes. Magma provided core infrastructure software to mobile pioneers such as Apple, Qualcomm, and Samsung, which was used to design the core processors at the heart of the smartphone era.

Prior to founding Magma, Rajeev co-founded and served as President and CEO of Ambit Design Systems, which was acquired by Cadence in 1998 for $280 million. Rajeev also co-founded and served as Director of Engineering of LogicVision, Inc (IPO under LGVN, then acquired by Mentor). Rajeev is a recipient of the Red Herring Top Innovator award, the lifetime achievement award at NITK, India and various other awards.

Rajeev earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication from KREC, Surathkal, India, and an M.S.E.E from Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Steve Papa serves as a Special Advisor and Advisor of Data Point Capital and Data Point Capital I, L.P. Mr. Papa serves as an Advisor of ClearInsight Inc. He serves as a Board Partner at Andreessen Horowitz LLC. He founded Endeca Technologies, Inc., in 1999 and served as its Chief Executive Officer from May 2006 to 2011. Prior to Endeca, he worked for Inktomi Corporation, where he was the Business Lead In Charge of creating its infrastructure caching business. He was part of the original business team at Akamai. Mr. Papa was a Venture Capital Associate with Venrock Associates and was responsible for managing AT&T’s $500 million high-end enterprise computing system product line. Mr. Papa served as Chairman of Endeca Technologies, Inc. He is an entrepreneur and visionary, bringing extensive experience developing and growing industry-changing technologies. Mr. Papa has a BSE in Engineering and Economics from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Eduardo Castro-Wright is a private investor. He was the former vice chairman of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and president and CEO of Global e-Commerce and Global Sourcing. Prior to this, Eduardo was president and CEO of Walmart U.S., where he led the transformation of stores, improvements in the customer experience, and the development of a strong leadership team. Before joining Walmart, Eduardo was president and CEO of Honeywell Transportation and Power Systems Worldwide and prior to that he was President and CEO of Nabisco Asia-Pacific. He holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University.

Yair Re’em joined Hasso Plattner Ventures in 2010 and since 2015 he is Managing Partner, leading the entire direct investments activity of Prof. Dr. h.c. Hasso Plattner, co-founder and chairman of software giant SAP. Prior to that, Yair held a variety of managerial roles in the international defense sector, focusing on technology scouting and the identification of market trends.

Yair holds a B.Sc. in electrical engineering from the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology and an Executive Master in Public Management from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia.

Sanjit is an Investment Director at Intel Capital. He drives investments in several areas like Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, IoT, eCommerce, Virtual/Augmented Reality, Robotics, etc. He is on the Board of several companies.

Sanjit has been on Hillary Clinton’s Tech/Innovation Policy Advisory team. He is on University of California President’s UC Innovation Council. Sanjit has the fastest Eng PhD from University of Illinois (2yrs 9mo after undergrad), which he received in 2000 with top research awards. He also attended the Venture Capital Executive program at Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. He’s an invited Speaker at several top events, eg SURGE/WebSummit, TiECon, ShopTalk, McKinsey leadership event, Silicon Valley Open Doors, Global Big Data and IoT conferences. He’s a mentor at Stanford and Berkeley’s Entrepreneurship programs.

He has had several Exits within 1 year of investment with excellent financial returns – eg VokeVR (acq by Intelwithin 7 months of investment), Basis Science (Wearables, acq Intel) and Maginatics (Cloud Storage, acq EMC). He is currently a Board Member in several startups, including True Fit (AI for eCommerce with 51 Million users), Body Labs (AI for Body Models using Image Recognition), Reflektion (AI recommendation for eCommerce) and Enlighted (IoT).

He is currently an investor in DocuSign (eSignature), True Fit, Reflektion, Body Labs, MongoDB (NoSQL Database), Enlighted (IoT), Mirantis (Cloud Computing), GoodData (SaaS BI) and Arcadia Data (Data Analytics 2.0), to name a few.

Sanjit has over a decade of Exec leadership experience in Product Design, Business Development and Strategy across several domains: Big Data, Natural Language Processing, 3D Camera/Apps, Supply-Chain Analytics and Flash Memory. He has managed $2Bill/year accounts and executed >30 partnership deals in $100M-$2Bill range. Always ahead of the curve, Sanjit worked on Big Data Analytics before industry created the term ‘Big Data’. Similarly, he launched 2 online courses during grad school in 1999 and published iconic papers on learnings, way before the MOOC revolution started.

Personally, Sanjit has an interest in film-making. He has made a few short movies and taken courses in script-writing, lighting, editing and production at DeAnza College, Cupertino.
